I finished crocheting a pretty pink shawl for my 6 year old daughter a few weeks ago. I'll try to post a pic soon.

oops forgot to say. when jena tries to move the cat so she can do her work.. Duchess meows and tries to bite her !

yea.. she's a sweet cat.. and LOVES jena .. I tell my hubby that the cat thinks we had jena just for her :-) when jena stays over night at a friends.. the cat cries for a while and then sleeps in her room until she comes home :_)

oh Jess..... your mention of the "roll up hot pads" reminds me of a potholder granny used to makke that was an ear of corn..the ear of corn sort of "rolled up" over itself and when you'd use the potholder it unwound a little..it was the cutest patte…

Hi! Aren't the babies cute! You're right about some birds, though.......the swallows are really leaving their mark. They also steal the cat food in the barn!

Hi Gracielynn! Thanks for your comment regarding my chickens. I sent for a mixture of brown egg layers so I have no clue what breed some of the chickens are. Would you know what breed the hen in the picture might me....you mentioned that she looks like one of yours.

Sorry to be away .

Where does the time go ?
here it is , fair time again !
jena & I have been looking through our projects from the last year and choosing which to take. So far she has her crochetted mittens.. and hat, a painting,, and hopefully a photo .
I have hot pads and bath mitts & I think I will also take the dress / jacket I made for her last summer.. SO many things to consider.

Wish now we hadn't eatten ALL the relishes.. I could have entered those also !
oh.. well, they WERE good :-)

The pic of hubby , me and grandson Max,our youngest dd , Jena and our oldest dd Daisha . was taken at our church's 125th anniv. service.
Many dressed in period costume.. we had a great time sewing the clothes & all to make us look 'old time' .

I think we have finally got this garden thing down !:-)
This year we used grass clippings around the plants and made paths with it also.
It is SO Nice to go out and ck things.. w/o all those nasty weeds.

Hello,
so glad to have found this network..
Looking forward to learning more :-)
we live on 10 acres in western Iowa
currently we have 8 acres farmed out.. the rest is our home, our coop & garden.

Last year we were a little slow with the garden.. but plan to get back on the hoe this year and get it going again. I REALLY missed the fresh veggies.
we had one grape vine that produced.. until last year, it just died.
I would love to know how to really care for them.. I only got one year of grap… Continue
