Profile Information

What is your crafting or art specialty? (Put none if none)
I am a fiber artist specializing in handspun yarn made from my own Shetland sheep and other naturally raised fleeces which I acquire. I am also a crochet lover, learning as a child from my mom who was amazing. I am exploring freeform crochet and traditional crochet in contemporary usage. I also collect vintage crochet which I then repurpose into my projects. I also do a lot of felting both wet and needle including my three d figures of all types (sheep and rams are a favorite) and have a new needle felting machine that I'm loving. Also lerning to knit and loving that as well. Also sew both hand and machine, using vintage fabrics and homespun. Also collect and resell vintage furniture and home accessories mostly for fun.
Do you live in a small town? (Less than 30,000)
Yes
What topics would you like to see covered in an upcoming issue of Small Town Living?
Handwork as a social facilitator for women...huh I mean......hanging out doing handwork with the girlfriends!

Small farming business for women
Do you raise any livestock? If so, what?
Yes! I have a small flock of primitive Shetland sheep which I breed carefully and lovingly. In return they give me their wool and sheepie kisses and tail wags. I am exploring obtaining other breeds to broaden the fleece possibilities! I also have a beautiful white Golden Retriever mis who is my constant companion and a guard cat named Goldie, both came with my little farm.
Do you raise any of your own food? If so, what?
Yes! I'm in my second year of growing an organically tended garden for the local community, selling at Farmer's Market and locally to coops and others. Seeking organic certification this year. Also raise chickens for eggs and food.
