cute cute cute, got my partners address and will be mailing out shortly. hmmm.....i have no idea how to post photos on here, i will have to figure it out.
well, my crafting space is pretty much where ever i sit to do it, so any color is perfectly fine. my actual sewing room is red, but i have never sewn a thing in there, it is more like a place to drop off my fabric addiction.
I'll have some great angora kits ready by September!
We also got one English Angora doe (a baby now) to "try out" the breed. She's a lilac and while she looks funny-looking now, I am told she'll be pretty later on. Right now she looks like some baby's old beat up rag bunny.
We have been busy with shearing, rabbit shows and our annual visit to the north texas scottish festival. And building the house. I don't have great internet access right now and have to go to a small town about 20 mi away to get online. But I am also volunteering there too, so i'm having fun.
Mostly herd building right now. Trying to build up the rabbitry before I populate my competition as there are very few sources for French Angoras here in my area. Later on, I'll sell them. The Lionheads will be different. I'll sell some and keep the best. Want to keep the pet quality ones from breeding though, so I may have them fixed before I sell them. Or sell them to the 4H kids as pets.
I prefer watering with the bottles myself, but they leak terribly and my hubby hates filling them. We aren't using the automatic waterering yet but he wants to try it out. So we'll see.
Had angora bunny babies this past weekend. Out of the ten or so that they had, only four survived but it was cold and they were all first time moms. We'll try again later. The four that are left are getting BIG and fiesty... three agouti and one white one.
The cages we bought are stainless steel and much nicer than anything I could have made (I have made some before.) These are professional cages, like you would see at the vet's office or at a lab. Very nice, with the components for automatic watering all built in.
I made another felted animal last night. Another koala. This one has the white belly that I forgot to do on the first one. I am getting better at koalas. Now to master bunnies and dogs.
I have client work to do here in the city. I house sat last night for a client and worked on some stuff last night. Today after my work at the other client's office, I will head back to the farm. Unless hubby needs help loading some rabbit cages he is buying for me. Then I will meet him to help, then follow him home.
